Accessibility

At A Recipe For Success we take accessibility very seriously.  This site was designed to conform with priority 1 checkpoints of the W3C Accessibility Guidelines and satisfies all priority 2 checkpoints bar one.  So what does this mean?
  • Images that convey important information have alternative text.  Where an image has been used for decorative purposes the alternative text attribute has been left blank.
  • No information is portrayed exclusively using colour.
  • Our pages are designed so that they can be viewed at a minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels.
  • All pages on this site validate as HTML 4.01 Transitional, as determined by the W3C Markup Validation Service. This is important to ensure that the website has a consistant appearance and functionality across all modern web browsers.
  • All pages on this site use valid Cascading Stylesheets (CSS), as determined by the W3C CSS Validation Service. This is important to ensure that the website has a consistant appearance across all modern web browsers.
  • The PDF files available from this site have been tagged to ensure that screen readers are able to deciper the file with the correct reading order.
Due to the design of the site, the site uses absolute positioning in its stylesheet and is of a fixed width.  This means that when the font size is increased the page gets longer but not wider.  However, this also means that when the font size is increased to above a certain size, the page will not display correctly but does remain readable.
